First off, we thank you for your patience as we’ve spent the last several months wading through the ever-changing playing-soccer-in-a-pandemic landscape.
The health and safety of all soccer participants is of the utmost importance, followed closely by the ability to establish a fun and stimulating environment for competitors.
In response to potential health and safety concerns and adherence to public health guidelines, in September 2020, the Alberta Soccer Board of Directors passed a resolution to cancel the 2020-21 Indoor Provincial Championships unless the Province of Alberta moved into Stage 3 of the COVID-19 response plan by January 2021.
Due to the current health situation in Alberta, the Board determined during the December 5, 2020 Board of Directors meeting to communicate to the membership the formal cancellation of the Indoor 2021 Provincial Championships. Alberta Soccer believes this decision will best support our members in providing meaningful indoor programming free from the constraints of the usual timelines leading into a Provincial Championship.
