Mar. 17, 2020

Due to the rapidly evolving circumstances as well as recommendations from the AHS and Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta's Chief Medical Officer, and actions being taken to combat the spread of the COVID 19 virus, all Alberta Soccer Association activities, programs and events are postponed indefinitely until further notice. The EIYSA office will be closed until further notice; however, the staff will be working remotely and can be reached by email or by phone during regular office hours.

We will continue on with the initial declaration deadline of March 31st and final declaration of April 15th.  Declaration fees will be due on April 15th.  These deadlines may be further extended as this situation evolves.  Schedules will be produced based on the final declarations and will be posted once we receive further information on when activities can be resumed.

We are using the best available information that we have today to be able to project a possible start date for the season, but ask all of our members to recognize that the nature of this outbreak is unpredictable and may necessitate changes to the normal start of the season in May.

We will provide further information as updates become available. Thank you for your patience and understanding; please be safe, we wish you all good health in the upcoming days.

The public health risk continually assessed as new information becomes available. Updates on COVID-19 can be found at:

Edmonton Interdistrict Youth Soccer Association continues to monitor the situation surrounding COVID-19, and how it might impact sporting events in the near future.  Canada Soccer released the following statement https://us14.campaign-archive.com/?e=&u=5455e7c4d83a3f8bfb2749378&id=fa4849dcfe

Canada Soccer Sanctioned Activities include all Alberta Soccer District and Member sanctioned activities.  This means all Soccer League games, playoffs, practices, camps, try-outs, tournaments, evaluation sessions, etc at all levels of play are affected by this announcement.

Of course, we are extremely disappointed, but the health and safety of our players, coaches/managers and their families take priority
